Bárbara Macías
Ashtanga Yoga, Pranayama & Mindfulness
I have been dedicated to daily Ashtanga practice since 2008, initially delving into various yoga styles before my journey led me to Mysore, India, where I discovered Ashtanga Yoga. I have been teaching yoga for over a decade and have been running a Mysore program in Berlin since 2017. My studies have taken me to India, where I practiced at the KPJAYI with Sharath Jois and Goa with Rolf Naukojat and Sharmila Desai. Matthew Vollmer and Carla Vollmer have been my main teachers, and more recently, I have embarked for two years on a mindfulness Teacher Training certification program under the guidance of Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach
Simon Knockton
Meditation & Mindfulness
Simon practices meditation and Buddhism. He studies within the Triratna Buddhism Movement. He is also a Mind Body coach qualified under the teaching of Dr Kim D’eramo. He is passionate about sharing ancient and modern wisdom practices and guiding meditation on retreat
Cacao Ceremony
Steeped in ancient South American tradition, cacao, known as the "Food of the Gods," promotes shamanic healing without hallucinogenic effects. This sacred experience helps rebalance your energies, open your heart, and connect with your true self. Enjoy the added benefits of cacao’s vitamins and minerals for heart health while elevating your mood with natural endorphins.
Temazcal
Experience the ancient healing tradition of Temazcal at our Ashtanga yoga retreat in Mexico. Originating from pre-Hispanic Mesoamerican cultures, this sacred sweat lodge, meaning “house of heat,” serves as a space for spiritual growth and physical rejuvenation. Participants are guided by a Shaman through meditations inside a dome made of volcanic rock, while heated stones cleanse and harmonize the spirit. Enter the womb of Mother Earth and emerge transformed, ready to connect with your inner self.
Sound Therapy
Sound healing therapy is a holistic practice that uses sound vibrations to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. It can involve various techniques. It is based on the idea that everything in the universe, including our bodies, is made of energy that vibrates at certain frequencies. By using sound practitioners restore balance, reduce stress and enhance overall health.
Food
At One Breath of Yoga, we have a mostly vegan ayurvedic food diet. We encourage our guests to try and participate as much as they can. After morning yoga enjoy a super healthy brunch. We have a large super smoothie, fruits and porridge served around 11 a.m. and then in the evening, we have the main meal of the day.
Guests are of course welcome to eat extra food in between these meal times (we will also provide you with fruit and nuts to snack on), however, we invite you as much as possible to enjoy the daily food ritual, as we believe it is the best way to support your health while on your stay.
